Energy Sources 2

My dream house would be a beautiful two story house with a huge white porch over looking a river. I would power my home with hydro power, since I would be right be a river it would be logical. I would have the dam be father down the river so that it may not cause flooding problems or disrupt the scenery. I would never have to worry about losing power or running out of power. I wouldn't even have to pay for hydro power because it is free to use. I would make sure that it was well construct, so that I would not have to worry about it bursting. I think that hydro power would be the best choice for my future dream house.

ENERGY SOURCES:)

West Virginia is famous for a lot of things, but there are primarily two. Those two things would be its beautiful mountain scenery and its rich source of coal. In certain situations the things can oppose each other. Many people think that it would be beneficial to the coal industry if they could do mountain top removal mining. Yes, it would be beneficial to coal industry by making it easier, faster, and more coal, but you need to take into account everything that it will affect in a negative way. Think of every thing those beautiful moutain tops represent: animal habitats, tourist attractions, and breath taking scenery. You need to ask yourselves is making getting coal a little easier and quicker worth losing all these wonderful things. I know having lived in west virginia my whole life I would miss the beautiful moutains so much. It would be like a completely different place. The moutains are one of the things that make West Virginia the wild and wonderful place that it is.

Genetics/Heredity Blog

Everyone says that I look like my mom, but is it true? Is that really where I got my traits from? Well right now I'm going to either prove everyone right or I'll prove everyone wrong.
Attached ear lobes are recessive, but my mom and dad both have attached ear lobes. Therefore, since neither of them had the dominant allele the recessive would carry over to me; I do have attached ear lobes. Now with hair on the fingers, only my mom has it, and hair on your fingers is dominant. I have hair on my fingers because it is over rules the recessive allele of my dad. Neither my mom nor my dad have a widows peak. Again, while that is recessive there was no dominant alleles, and that's why I don't either. This is the same for a smooth chin, it's recessive. Neither of my parents have a cleft chin and neither do I. I have very big dimples on my cheeks when I smile, and so does my mom. My dad on the other hand does not, but dimples are dominant. That is why I have them.
So is it safe to say I look like my mom? I think so considering all our traits match up exactly. I don't match my dad in every trait, but he did have all recessives.

My First Blog

My Favorite lesson was learning about action and reaction. I though that the different labs with this was really fun. we did several labs with this; I always learn a lot more when we do labs. One thing we did was the balloons on a string. I think that the most fun thing that we did was the car races. Even though our car didn't work we still learned how we could make it work. It didn't work, but we did get prettiest witch made it all the more fun. I learned a lot and I was interested in the Newton's Laws of Motion.
